MARYANN RICHARDSON

February 8, 1951 — August 12, 2026

In Loving Memory of Maryann Richardson Maryann Richardson was born on February 8, 1951, in Henderson, North Carolina, where she spent her early years surrounded by family, love, and hard work. She attended school in Henderson and spent many days working on the farm alongside her mother, Arlene Miller, and her siblings, Ricardo Rogers, Vanessa Bullock, Kevin Rogers, and Katrina Rogers. Those early years helped shape Maryann into the strong, loving, and caring woman that her family would come to know and cherish. At the age of 18, Maryann made the journey to New York City, where she would spend the remainder of her life. She eventually settled in the Bronx, where she built a beautiful life centered around her family. The Bronx became her home, and it was there that she created countless memories with the people she loved most. Maryann was a devoted mother to six children: Micheal Bullock, Freddy Reaves, Tasha Bullock, Thomas Bullock, Troy Bullock, and her beloved daughter, Dorothy Reaves, who sadly preceded her in death on March 20, 2025. Although Dorothy was called home before Maryann, the love between a mother and daughter never ends. Maryann carried her daughter in her heart and memory until the end. Maryann was also blessed to be a grandmother to 18 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 20 great-grandchildren. Her family was one of the greatest sources of joy in her life. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren deeply, and they loved her just as much in return. Maryann also found love and companionship with her husband, Carl Richardson. Together, they shared a life filled with memories, family, laughter, and love. To know Maryann was to know someone who knew how to enjoy the simple things in life. She loved being around her family, listening to music, going out to her favorite restaurant, Dallas BBQ, and spending peaceful moments sitting and relaxing in the park. One of her favorite places was Walter Gladwin Park in the Bronx, located close to her home. She enjoyed the peace and comfort of being outdoors and making memories in a place that felt familiar and special to her. Maryann's favorite color was red, a color that reflected the warmth, love, and vibrant spirit she carried with her. But perhaps one of the things her family will remember most about Maryann was her ability to bring happiness wherever she went. She would dance the night away, laugh from the heart, give the warmest hugs, and make the people around her feel loved. Her laughter was contagious, and her hugs were unforgettable. There was something special about the way Maryann loved her family. She didn't just say she loved you—she showed it through her presence, her laughter, her hugs, and the time she spent with the people she cared about. Maryann leaves behind a beautiful family who will carry her memory forward: her children, Micheal Bullock, Freddy Reaves, Tasha Bullock, Thomas Bullock, and Troy Bullock; her 18 grandchildren; her 20 great-grandchildren; her three sisters and one brother; her husband, Carl Richardson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Dorothy Reaves, as well as many of her siblings and other loved ones who were dear to her heart. Although our hearts are heavy with the pain of losing Maryann, we can find comfort in knowing that the love she gave will never leave us. Her children will carry her love. Her grandchildren will carry her stories. Her great-grandchildren will carry her legacy. Every laugh, every hug, every song, every dance, and every memory will be a reminder that she was here and that she was deeply loved. Maryann's life was not measured only by the years she lived, but by the lives she touched and the love she gave to those around her. She leaves behind a family that will continue to speak her name, share her stories, and remember all the little things that made her so special. Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Wife, Aunt, and Friend — you will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Your smile will be remembered. Your laughter will be missed. Your hugs will never be forgotten. Your love will live on through every generation. Rest peacefully, Maryann Richardson. You have left this world, but you will never leave our hearts. Until we meet again, dance among the angels, keep smiling, and know that you are loved beyond words. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts. ❤️

Remember Me – Christina Rossetti

Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land; When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you plann'd: Only remember me; you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad.
