Maryann Perez

November 4, 1980 — May 5, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Maryann Perez. Maryann left this world on May 5, 2026, at the age of 45, in the comforting arms of her loved ones, after bravely battling cancer with unwavering courage and strength. She was born on November 4, 1980, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, to loving parents Zaida Luz Perez and Milton Miron. Maryann was a beacon of kindness and love, cherished as a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, aunt, godmother, and friend. Above all, she was a devoted and extraordinary mother to her beloved son, Anthony Fonseca Pérez, born on December 12, 2010. Her unwavering love for Anthony was a guiding light in her life, and she nurtured him with a heart full of love and wisdom. A proud graduate of St. Josephinum All-Girls Catholic High School and Columbia College, Maryann earned her Bachelor's in Marketing Communications with a focus on Public Relations in 2004. She embarked on a successful career as a yacht underwriter, starting with Chicago Mutual and State Farm before finding her professional home at AIG, which later became PCS Private Client Select. Maryann adored her job and her coworkers, often speaking fondly of them as her extended family. Her admiration for her boss, Craig Dunstan, and her colleagues, especially Casey and Ms. Peggy, was evident in her heartfelt words about them. Maryann's vibrant spirit extended beyond her professional life. She was an active member of Living Water Fellowship Church in Poinciana, Florida, where she found solace and community. Her passion for sports teams from her hometown—the Cubs, Bears, and Bulls—was matched by her love for travel, food, and fitness. She was a fixture at Crunch Fitness, participating in Zumba classes and embracing the camaraderie of her gym community. Her love for board games and swimming, especially in her cherished pool, was shared with family and friends during frequent gatherings she orchestrated with joy and a touch of endearing bossiness. Maryann's marriage to Freddy Fonseca in June 2002 marked the beginning of a beautiful journey together. Though they amicably separated in 2020, their friendship and dedication to co-parenting Anthony remained steadfast. In her later years, Maryann found companionship with Eligio Santiago, with whom she shared a love for travel and dining experiences. Maryann's legacy is carried forward by her surviving family: her son, Anthony Fonseca Pérez; her mother, Zaida L. Pérez; her father, Milton S. Miron; her sisters, Zaida I. Carrion Perez and Marisol Miron; her brother, Milton L. Miron; and her loving extended family, including nephews, nieces, in-laws, and many dear cousins, aunts, and uncles, who cherished her deeply. She is predeceased by her beloved older brother, Cesar Luis Carrion Perez, whose memory she held dear. A celebration of Maryann's life will be held on May 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Living Water Fellowship Church, 4101 Pleasant Hill Rd, Kissimmee, Florida 34746. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported Maryann during her battle and to the doctors, nurses, and staff at AdventHealth Orlando for their compassionate care. Special thanks to Pastor Terry, his wife, and the congregation of Living Water Fellowship Church for their prayers and support. Maryann Perez touched the lives of many with her kindness, love, and unwavering spirit. Her warmth and generosity will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we gather to honor her memory, we hold close the beautiful moments we shared and celebrate the remarkable life she led.
