It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Williams Chislom, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left this world peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the age of 67. Mary was surrounded by the love of her family as she transitioned from this life, following complications from surgery. Born on July 4, 1958, in the vibrant city of Fort Lauderdale, Mary was a beacon of strength and resilience. Her life was a testament to the power of love and perseverance, as she dedicated herself to raising her four beloved children as a single mother. Her unwavering commitment and nurturing spirit laid a foundation of kindness and strength that her family carries with them to this day. Mary’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family. She was a proud grandmother to 20 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to 25 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her home was always filled with laughter, joy, and the aromas of her delicious cooking, as she delighted in bringing her family together around the table. A woman of deep faith, Mary was an active member of the St. Baptist Church community, where she found solace and strength in her spirituality. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and she shared it generously with those around her, touching many lives with her compassion and wisdom. Mary is preceded in death by her beloved father, Joseph Williams, whose memory she cherished dearly. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her dear in their hearts. The family extends a heartfelt invitation to all who knew and loved Mary to join them in celebrating her life. A service honoring Mary will be held on April 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Baptist Church, located at 7851 Riviera Blvd, Miramar, Florida 33023. In a special message from her family, they express their deep gratitude: “I’m so thankful of you and your presence in my life. I miss you so much. Thank you for making us strong and blessing us with the gift of life. You are so amazing. Casey and your grandkids miss you so much, and we all love you and will miss you dearly.” Mary Williams Chislom’s legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, wrapped in the warmth of the love she so generously gave in life.
