Mary Theresa Korp

March 14, 1956 — June 13, 2026

Mary Theresa Korp, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this life on June 13, 2026, with her family by her side. Born on March 14, 1956, in Howell, Michigan, Mary was the cherished daughter of Wilda and Rosemary (Gehringer) Rockhold. Throughout her 70 years, she graced the lives of everyone she met with warmth, kindness, and an indomitable spirit. Mary's journey through life was marked by deep love and loyalty to her family. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Dorthea Fowler, and her first husband, Walt Curtis. Her legacy of love and resilience continues to shine through her surviving family: her devoted husband of five years, Timothy Korp, and her treasured sons, David Curtis, Phillip Curtis, and Steven, with his wife Kirstin. Her heart swelled with pride for her grandchildren, Rebecca, David Jr., Seth, Hunter, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn, Jax, Donald, and her great-grandchild, who brought her endless joy. Mary is also remembered by her loving siblings: brothers Roger, Terry (Nancy), Paul (Laura), Leonard (Vicki), Allan (Marilla), Albert, and sister Rose (John) Sawyer. Her extended family of nieces and nephews, along with her special friend MJ and the A&W staff, all held a special place in her heart. Mary possessed a gentle elegance and a vibrant spirit. Known for her creativity and warmth, she spent many joyful hours crocheting beautiful pieces, solving intricate puzzles, and immersing herself in the heartwarming stories of Hallmark movies. Her ability to make everyone feel loved and cherished was a gift that endeared her to friends and strangers alike. A celebration of Mary's life will take place at Vickers Funeral Home, located at 109 N. Church St., Leslie, MI 49251. The service will be a time to honor and reflect upon the beautiful tapestry of memories she has left behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Mary's memory to the University of Michigan Sparrow Home Hospice, an organization that provided her with comfort and care in her final days.
