Mary Sue Lundin
March 18, 1943 — May 21, 2026
Mary Sue Lundin, a beloved member of the Ozark, Alabama community, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on March 18, 1943, Mary Sue was the cherished daughter of William and Dorothy Mullins, who instilled in her the values of hard work, love, and resilience.
Mary Sue's life was a tapestry of warmth and dedication. She graduated from Carroll High School in 1961, and her quest for knowledge led her to Troy University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in 1967. Her passion for education and her community shone brightly during her early career as a high school business teacher, where she inspired young minds and fostered a love for learning.
In what became a defining venture, Mary Sue traded her classroom chalk for the nurturing soil of her own nursery and florist, which she lovingly managed for over 20 years. Her shop was more than a business; it was a haven of beauty and bloom, a reflection of her nurturing spirit, where she cultivated not only plants but also friendships and community ties.
A woman of eclectic interests, Mary Sue's hobbies painted a vivid portrait of her vibrant personality. She found joy and peace in painting, capturing the world around her with strokes of color and imagination. Her adventurous spirit led her to the unique pursuit of raising ostriches and beagles, a testament to her love for all creatures great and small. The mountains, with their serene beauty, were a sanctuary for her, a place where she could connect with nature and with herself.
Yet, above all, Mary Sue's heart belonged to her family. Her husband of 58 years, William (Bill) Lundin, was her steadfast partner in life and love. Together, they built a family that was the cornerstone of her existence. Her son, Michael Lundin, and daughter, Amy Wooley, along with her son-in-law, Eric Wooley, were her pride and joy. Her grandchildren, Hunter and Colby Wooley, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Mary Sue's brother, William Mullins, shared a lifelong bond with her, filled with memories of their Alabama upbringing. Her family was a testament to the love and dedication that characterized her life, and her legacy will continue to flourish in their hearts.
Known for her unyielding spirit and her ability to get things done, Mary Sue was a beacon of strength and kindness. Her laughter was infectious, her wisdom profound, and her love all-encompassing. She touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family, friends, and the community will gather to celebrate Mary Sue's remarkable life at Lewis Funeral Home. As we bid farewell to a woman whose life was a testament to love, compassion, and determination, we hold close the memories of her generous spirit and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Mary Sue Lundin will be dearly missed, but her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her.
