It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Rosati, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on April 27, 2026, at Shorewood Landing, surrounded by the love and care of her cherished children. Mary was born on July 31, 1940, in the town of Excelsior, Minnesota, and was lovingly raised by her adoptive parents, Al and Alice Colby. Mary was a beacon of life and warmth, whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.
Mary grew up in a tight-knit family with her sister Florence and many Aunts,Uncles & Cousins in Excelsior She is survived by her devoted children, Steve Rosati (Molly), Sheryl Rosati, and Angie Hubert (Aaron); her sister, Florence Shanks; her brothers, Leonard, Mike, and Grant Wilson; and her granddaughter, Annabelle, who was the light of her life.
A graduate of Minnetonka High School's Class of 1958, Mary carried her love for learning into a distinguished career. She dedicated 20 years of her professional life to Advance Machine Company, where she served as a Senior Manager in Government Sales. Mary's colleagues will remember her not only for her exceptional work ethic and leadership but also for her unwavering integrity and kindness.In her retirement years she worked @ Wayzata CC running the Oasis
Mary was a devout member of St. John's Catholic Church, where she found solace and community for many decades. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her with grace and compassion.
In her free time, Mary embraced the great outdoors with a zest that was contagious. Whether she was casting a line in a serene lake, carving her way down a snowy slope, biking along scenic trails, or camping under the stars, Mary reveled in the beauty of nature. Her adventurous spirit also took her to far-off places, as she was an avid traveler who sought to explore the world and its wonders.
Mary's life was a testament to living fully and freely, with a heart open to love and laughter. Her deep faith in God was matched only by her ability to inspire those around her to appreciate life in its myriad forms. Mary’s legacy is one of resilience, joy, and an unyielding belief in the goodness of humanity.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary’s remarkable life on May 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. John's Catholic Church. As we gather to honor her memory, we are reminded of the indelible mark she left on our lives, and we are comforted by the knowledge that her spirit will continue to guide and uplift us.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Grace Hospice of Minnesota
