Mary Parker

November 8, 1930 — May 30, 2026

Mary Parker, a beacon of warmth and grace, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, at her beloved home, Hawthorn House. Born on November 8, 1930, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Mary graced this world for 95 years with her compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Mary was the cherished daughter of Henry and Doris Kerstner, who predeceased her, along with her devoted husband, Link, and beloved son, Randy. Her life was a testament to love and family, and she leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by her surviving family: her daughter Kelly Bell (Jim), son Rick Parker (Susan), and her seven treasured grandchildren, Holly Parker, Austin Parker (Katie), Dr. John Parker (Rietta), Jamie Bell, Mary Albrecht (Philip), Brian Bell, and Stephanie Adams (Jacob). Her love extended to her seven great-grandchildren, each a testament to her nurturing spirit. Mary's life was marked by commitment and devotion. She attended Southeast Missouri State University but chose to leave her studies to marry the love of her life, Link, on October 23, 1953. Together, they built a loving home where she ardently supported her husband and raised three successful children. Mary was not only a cornerstone of her family but also a pillar within her community. Her dedication extended beyond her family, as she actively participated in the Trinity Methodist Church and volunteered for the American Cancer Society, providing transportation and support to those undergoing treatment. Her compassionate nature was evident in her countless hours of service and her involvement with the Fort Walton Beach Ladies Golf Association, where she embraced both friendship and the sport with enthusiasm. Mary's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. An avid seamstress, she delighted in creating beautiful sewing projects, including crafting complete seat covers for the family's 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass and personalized placemats for friends and family. Her creativity and attention to detail were evident in every stitch, much like her approach to life—thoughtful and filled with love. Those who knew Mary will remember her as a woman with a warm smile and sparkling eyes, who traveled the world with grace and passion. Her ability to touch lives, whether through her volunteer work, her church involvement, or her love for sewing, was a testament to her generous spirit. A service to honor Mary's remarkable life will be held on June 5, 2026, at Trinity Methodist Church, located at 403 Racetrack Road. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Bob Hope Village, Emerald Coast Hospice, Trinity United Methodist Church, or the American Cancer Society, organizations that meant so much to Mary. The Parker family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Emerald Coast Hospice and the dedicated staff of Hawthorn House for their compassionate care and support during Mary's final days. Mary Parker's legacy of love, kindness, and community service will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
