Mary Magdeline Cremeans
May 9, 1935 — September 6, 2026
Mary Magdeline Cremeans, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on May 9, 1935, in the serene landscapes of Rabun County, Georgia, Mary was a beacon of love and resilience throughout her life.
Daughter to Chester and Laura Alpha (Carr) Mackenzie, Mary grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of Georgia, which instilled in her a profound appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. Her journey through the years was marked by her unwavering dedication to family, community, and faith.
Mary shared a beautiful and enduring love story with her husband, Earl Cremeans, with whom she spent 67 wonderful years of marriage until his passing. Together, they built a family characterized by unity and warmth, a testament to their enduring love and commitment.
She was a devoted mother to her children, Debra (John) Shewbrooks, Charles Cremeans, Lori (Cremeans) Peden, and Tim (Pepper) Cremeans. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, eight in total, who were frequent beneficiaries of her wisdom and kindness. Her legacy continued to grow with the arrival of 19 great-grandchildren and one precious great-great-grandchild, each a testament to the love that she sowed throughout her life.
Mary's life was a tapestry of cherished moments and friendships, woven together by her selfless acts of kindness and her gentle spirit. Her home was always a place of warmth, and her door was always open to those in need of comfort or counsel. She had a remarkable ability to listen with compassion, offering advice that was as wise as it was practical.
Though Mary has left this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. Her family, while grieving their profound loss, takes solace in the memories of shared laughter, stories, and experiences that will continue to inspire them.
In honoring Mary’s wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate her life and legacy. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice, reflecting Mary’s lifelong commitment to helping others.
Mary Magdeline Cremeans will be dearly missed, yet her light will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched. Her legacy of love, family, and faith will remain a guiding force for generations to come.
