Mary Lydia Miller, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on September 22, 2026. Mary was born on February 12, 1940, in the vibrant town of Las Vegas, New Mexico, to Leonor and Patoricinia Valenzuela. She was the embodiment of kindness, generosity, and warmth, touching the lives of everyone she met with her kind soul and enormous heart. Mary was a proud graduate of Las Vegas High School and pursued her passion for care and service by attending the LCCC Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program. Her professional career was marked by over 25 years of dedicated service as the Superintendent of Housekeeping at the Plains Hotel, where she was admired for her diligence and leadership. On January 8, 1965, Mary married the love of her life, Lloyd K. Miller. Together, they built a life filled with love and happiness, sharing 38 wonderful years of marriage until Lloyd's passing. Her love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Leonor and Patoricinia Valenzuela; her dear husband, Lloyd K. Miller; her sister, Ramona White; and her grandson, Jesse James Alcon. She is survived by her adoring children: Jodie Ann Martinez (Paul), Lloyd J. Miller (Wendy), and Maria L. Gomez (Leo). Her legacy continues through her 11 cherished grandchildren, including Robert L. Alcon (Elizabeth) and Anthony G. Garcia (Vivian),Layla Crimm Vince garcia Isaac Martinez Miranda matsuo Jeremy miller Joshua miller Matthew miller Brianna Govig and her 14 treasured great-grandchildren, among them Christina Shunn (Cory) and Nicholas Alcon (Brianna) Alycia white nathaniel Alcon Messiah Davis azrani amari and roman Crimm Tyler garcia Owen and mauve matsuo Leora and Theo Guarneros Mary was also blessed with great-great-grandchildren Kash and Rose Igehart. Her sister, Linda Romero, remains to carry forward the family's enduring bond. Mary had a zest for life and a passion for simple joys, like attending bingo nights, where her laughter and excitement were contagious. Her presence will be dearly missed, but the warmth of her spirit will forever light the hearts of those who knew her. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in her name, continuing her legacy of helping those in need. Mary Lydia Miller will be remembered as a beacon of love and compassion, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will be cherished for generations to come.
