Born on October 25, 1947, in Bloomington, Mary was a woman whose life was defined by love, faith, and generosity. Mary was the devoted wife of the late Arthur C. Ahrens, with whom she shared nearly 43 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising five children and welcoming a bounty of grandchildren and great-grandchildren into their family. Her legacy is lovingly carried on by her children, Josh and Diana Jeffery-Addy, Emmy Jeffery, and Andrew and Charles Ahrens, along with her grandchildren: Arthur, Shelby, Roseanna, Jennifer, Ashley, Heather, Amber, and Samantha. The joy of Mary's life was further enriched by her many great-grandchildren, whose number was too vast to count. Mary's career began at General Electric in Bloomington, where she worked diligently after completing high school. Following her years at GE, she continued her dedication to work at Goodwill until her retirement. Her work ethic and commitment to helping others were evident in all she did. Mary's heart was as vast as her love for chocolate—a passion she indulged with almost childlike delight, savoring it by the pound. Her deep faith and love for her church were pillars of her life, guiding her in kindness and compassion. Many will remember her for her unwavering support and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, a testament to her golden heart and generous spirit. Outside of her professional life, Mary found immense joy in her family, cherishing every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, filled with laughter, stories, and the sweet aroma of chocolate. Mary's kindness, faith, and loving nature leave an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her.
