Mary Louise Widowski

October 1, 1934 — July 14, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Mary Louise Widowski, who left this world peacefully at home on July , 2026, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on October 1, 1934, in Parma, Ohio, Mary was a beacon of kindness and love throughout her 91 years. Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Michael J. Boehm Sr. and Anna E. Boehm. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles M. Widowski Sr., with whom she shared a beautiful marriage that began on September 14, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio. She now reunites with Charles and her siblings, Michael (Gen), Margaret, Hildegarde, Katie (Mike), Daniel, Paul, James (Janice), Evelyn (James), and Phillip (Theresa), in eternal peace. Mary's legacy lives on through her surviving family: her children Charles (Josephine), Evelyn (Robert), Matthew, Mary Ann (Tony), Elizabeth, Mark (Suzanne), and Margaret (Thomas), as well as her 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. A proud graduate of Rhodes High School in 1952, Mary went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in nursing from St. John's College in 1957 and later achieved a Master's degree from The Medical College of Toledo in 1991. Her career was a testament to her dedication and compassion, beginning in public health for the city of Cleveland and continuing at Deaconess Hospital. Mary ultimately found her calling as the Director of Hospital Education at Medina General Hospital, where her influence was felt deeply. Mary's commitment to service extended beyond her professional life. As a lifelong member of St. Charles Borromeo in Parma, she was deeply involved in her faith community, teaching PSR and serving as president of the parish's chapter of the St. Vincent DePaul Society until 2016. Her early years as a Girl Scout with Troop 350 fostered a spirit of camaraderie and community that lasted a lifetime. Known for her culinary talents, Mary delighted in baking hundreds of Christmas cookies each year, bringing joy to those fortunate enough to receive them. Her exceptional skill in crocheting potholders was a hallmark of her generosity, as she shared these handmade treasures with friends and acquaintances alike. Mary was a woman of faith, wisdom, and boundless love. Her ability to listen and provide thoughtful guidance made her an invaluable confidante to many. She lived her life as a true educator, imparting lessons both in the classroom and at home, and her generous spirit touched all who knew her. A service to honor Mary's life will be held at St. Charles Church, located at 5891 Ridge Rd., Parma, Ohio 44129. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Miracle City Hospice and St. Charles Borromeo Parish in her memory. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff of Miracle City Hospice. Your loving care provided immeasurable comfort to our mother and family during this difficult time. Mary Louise Widowski's enduring legacy of love, kindness, and service will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. May her soul rest in peace, as she watches over us with her gentle smile.
