July 24, 1956 — September 9, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Louise Porter, a beloved figure in her family and community, who departed this world on September 9, 2026. Born on July 24, 1956, in Ohio, Mary was the cherished daughter of Hollis (Pete) Porter and Patricia Porter, both of whom predeceased her. She now joins them in eternal rest. Mary was a devoted and loving sister to her brother Kenneth Porter and his wife Karen. She was also a treasured aunt to her nieces and nephews: Amy Porter, Brian Porter and his wife Ashley, Kristine Sizemore and her husband Kurt, David Porter and his wife Kristina, Michael Porter, and Tracie Baxter and her husband Corey. Her great-nieces and nephews—Chloe, Madalynn, Hailey, Lucas, Rylie, Zachary, Caylee, Mikeo, Makia, Landon, and Owen—will forever remember her warmth and affection. Mary found immense joy in spending time with them, marveling at their growth and celebrating their achievements. With a heart full of love and a spirit dedicated to nurturing others, Mary devoted her professional life to teaching. As a preschool teacher at Saints Peter and Paul Childcare, she touched the lives of countless young children and their families with her kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication. For Mary, teaching was more than a career—it was her calling. Her influence extended beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to learn from her. Mary was known for her ability to find joy in the simple things in life, particularly in the company of her family and friends. She cherished moments spent in conversation, sharing stories, and catching up on the lives of those she loved. Her laughter, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. As we remember Mary, we invite those who wish to honor her memory to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice. This, we believe, would be a fitting tribute to a woman who dedicated her life to the betterment of others. Mary Louise Porter will be remembered not only for the love and dedication she showed to her family and community but also for the grace and kindness with which she lived her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Mary Louise Porter welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
