Mary Louise Martin

February 26, 1936 — April 11, 2026

Mary Louise Martin, a cherished soul with a heart full of love and a life well-lived, passed away peacefully in her home on April 11, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her family and the comfort of familiar surroundings. Born on February 26, 1936, in Victoria, Texas, Mary was a beacon of kindness, humility, and joy throughout her 90 years. Mary was the beloved daughter of Charles Birmingham and Maria Villareal, who instilled in her the values of faith and family. She shared her childhood with her dear sister, Alice Gomez, both of whom have now joined their parents in eternal rest. Mary’s life was a testament to the love and guidance she received from her family, which she carried forward into her own nurturing years. On a beautiful summer day, June 7, 1957, in Valley City, North Dakota, Mary married the love of her life, Floyd D. Martin. Their marriage, which spanned an inspiring 62 years, was filled with shared dreams, enduring love, and a commitment to their faith. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Carrie, Jason, and Candace, who were the heart of their universe. Mary was a devoted homemaker, finding joy in creating a warm and loving environment for her family. As the years passed and their children grew, she joined the workforce, bringing her friendly demeanor to the cashier ticket office at Northwestern College. Her colleagues and patrons cherished her upbeat attitude and genuine care for others. A woman of many talents and interests, Mary enjoyed the thrill of discovering hidden treasures at antique shows and flea markets, a passion she shared with Floyd. Together, they reveled in the stories each antique held, weaving them into the fabric of their lives. They also found joy in attending estate sales, where each item they encountered spoke to their shared sense of history and wonder. Mary's life was deeply rooted in her Christian faith, which she and Floyd were passionate about sharing with others. Their home was often filled with the sounds of little songs, singing, and whistling, as Mary's vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her sayings and expressions, full of warmth and humor, continue to echo in the hearts of her family. Mary’s legacy is carried forward by her loving children: Carrie Kronebusch, Jason Martin (Sara), and Candace Reid (Ronald); her cherished grandchildren: Jarrod Kronebusch (Aria), Seth Kronebusch (Ashley), Dillon Martin (Emily), Jenna Martin, Colton Martin (Lexi), Aaron Martin (Christine), Jessica Reid (Adam), and Ashley Reid (Cody); and her precious great-grandchildren, Jorah Kronebusch and Makaiah Martin. Her family was the center of her world, and she reveled in the joy of their accomplishments and the love they shared. Predeceased by her husband Floyd, her parents, her sister Alice, and sons-in-law Scott Reid and Paul Kronebusch, Mary is now reunited with them in the embrace of eternity. A private ceremony will be held to honor Mary’s life, where family and close friends will gather to celebrate the journey of a remarkable woman whose love and light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. Mary Louise Martin leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith, and her memory will be cherished and celebrated by her family and friends for generations to come. Rest in peace, dear Mary; you will be missed, but your spirit will forever remain a guiding light in our lives.
