Mary L. Williams, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, after a long battle with dementia. Born on October 22, 1945, in Birmingham, Alabama, Mary was a beacon of light to all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of the late Edmond and Rachael Parker and was predeceased by her devoted husband, Eligh Williams, her sister, Ernestine Wilson. Mary's life was one of love, laughter, and service. She was a graduate of Scott High School, class of 1963, and furthered her education at Stautsenberger College. Her career spanned over two decades, during which she worked with dedication and diligence at Bingham Stamping for 12 years and later at Lott Industries for 10 years. On Valentine’s Day in 1976, Mary married the love of her life, Eligh Williams, and together they nurtured a beautiful family. Though Eligh passed away in March 1998, his memory lived on in the love they shared for their son, Kiwan Williams, . Mary was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who cherished every moment with her family. Her grandson, Trevon Collier, and 4 great grandchildren were the lights of her life. Mary was known for her quick wit, her infectious sense of humor, and her boundless compassion. She had a remarkable ability to lift the spirits of those around her and was always ready to give to anyone in need, even if it meant giving her last. She had a profound love for music and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Mary leaves behind her son,Kiwan Williams (Latonya); her grandson, Trevon Collier; her brothers, Edmond Parker Jr. (Jackie Parker), Sylvester Parker (Diane Parker), and Anthony Parker; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her special friends Bethora Lee (Biggie), Velma White, Mary Ellen, and Robbie Tucker also held a special place in her heart. A service to honor Mary’s life will be held on October 2, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Days Funeral Home, located at 2550 Nebraska Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Mary’s memory, reflecting her generous spirit and commitment to helping others. Mary L. Williams will be remembered for her warmth, her loving nature, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone she touched. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
