Mary Jean Ladd

Mary Jean Ladd passed away on June 9, 2026 while surrounded by the love and support of her cherished family. Mary was born in Russellville, Arkansas on June 25, 1953 to Jim D. and Emma Jean Minor. She lived most of her life in Tonkawa, graduating from Tonkawa High School in 1971. She married James “Jim” Ladd Jr. on February 22, 1972, and they spent 49 years together before Jim’s passing in 2021. They had two children, Jeffery Ladd and Stacy (Ladd) Bahn. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Minor, her father and mother-in-law, and her husband of 49 years. Mary is survived by her loving sister, Martha (Minor) Cocklin and her husband Chris of Wichita, Kansas; her devoted son, Jeff Ladd along with his wife Sonia of Spring, Texas; and her daughter Stacy (Ladd) Bahn of Springfield, Missouri. She was the proud grandmother to many treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two nieces who adored her deeply. To all of them, she was the heart and soul of the family. Mary dedicated 36 years to her career with Ponca City Public Schools where she served as the Public Relations/Communications Coordinator. Her professionalism and passion for the Ponca City school system and community left a mark on all who worked with her. Mary enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. She had creative spirit and was always working on something. She loved hosting and cooking for her family and friends. She was an active member of the Christian Life Church of Tonkawa. She served many joyful years in the music ministry, sharing her voice and unyielding faith. Mary’s beauty radiated from the inside out and her compassionate spirit was always eager to help those in need. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will forever inspire those who knew her. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone for the calls, visits, food, support and prayers during this time. Mary’s life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication. Her spirit will remain a guiding light for her family and friends. She is now at peace, reunited with her loved ones, and in the comforting embrace of Jesus. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 2:00PM at the Christian Life Church, located at 205 Thunderbird Rd, Tonkawa, OK 74653
