Mary Jane Harris
October 11, 1957 — July 20, 2026
Mary Jane Harris, a beloved soul born on October 11, 1957, in the heart of Sussex County, Virginia, peacefully departed from this earth on July 20, 2026. Her journey was one of grace, love, and unwavering devotion, leaving a legacy that will forever echo through the lives of those she touched.
The daughter of Charles and Hattie Faltz, Mary Jane was a vibrant light, whose presence was felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she faced the sorrow of losing her parents, brothers Parnell and Ham, and her cherished son, Kevin, Mary Jane's spirit remained resilient, bolstered by her steadfast faith and the love of her family.
Mary Jane shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Anothy Harris. Together, they raised two sons, Kevin and Junior, and cultivated a home filled with love, laughter, and music. Her voice, an everlasting treasure, resonated with warmth and joy, and will continue to carry her legacy forward.
A proud graduate of LP Jackson High School in 1983, Mary Jane devoted her professional life to nurturing young minds as a teacher's aide. Her compassion and dedication were evident in every interaction, as she shared her love through the children in her care.
Mary Jane found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life—cooking, cleaning, and singing. Her home was a sanctuary of harmony and nourishment, where family and friends gathered to celebrate life's moments, both big and small.
She is survived by her devoted granddaughter, Tiara Faltz; her loving sister, Yvonne; her daughter, Tonya Faltz, and son-in-law, James Faltz; as well as her grandson, Rodney Jones. Her love lives on in the hearts of her two grandchildren, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and strength.
