Mary Grace Helsel, born on March 3, 1948, in Millcreek, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on July 22, 2026, after a short battle with pneumonia. Grace was a beacon of kindness and compassion, who was cherished by her family and all who had the honor of knowing her. She was the beloved daughter of Jesse "Arn" Helsel and Allean Mae Helsel, who instilled in her a deep sense of empathy and dedication to helping others. Grace was a devoted mother to her son, Martin Robert Sarvis Jr. She has a Grandson tripp donovan powers. Grace is survived by her brother Jesse, sisters Kathy Kephart and Sharon Baker, brother Chris Helsel, and sister-in-law Elizabeth "Betsy" Helsel. She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Marshall Kephart and Thomas Baker, and her sister-in-law Cheryl Helsel. A proud graduate of the Altoona School of Nursing, Grace dedicated her career to serving others as a nurse at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Her commitment to her work and her patients was unparalleled. Grace's life was rich with interests and pursuits that reflected her vibrant spirit. She had a passion for learning sign language and shared her talents by performing plays and Christmas carols at the Logan Valley Mall. Her love for Christmas was boundless I o In her leisure time, Grace enjoyed shooting pool, visiting casinos, and traveling to new places, always seeking adventure and new experiences. Her zest for life was infectious, and she inspired those around her to embracemoment with enthusiasm and grace. Grace's legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and the importance of serving others.
