Mary Frances Beale

Mary Frances Beale, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on August 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 29, 1944, in Houston, Texas, Mary was the cherished daughter of Rudy and Mary Elom. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Mary was a proud graduate of Oakwood High School, class of 1963. She devoted her life to being a homemaker, where she found joy and fulfillment in serving her husband Medwin Dee Beale, Jr., affectionately known as "M.D.," and their children. Together, Mary and M.D. built a life filled with love and laughter, celebrating 60 beautiful years of marriage. Mary's warmth and kindness were felt by everyone around her. She had a passion for cooking and often filled her home with the delicious aromas of her culinary creations. A lover of the past, she enjoyed antique shopping and treasured the stories behind each piece. Her love for reading, word search puzzles, and working on various puzzles was well known, as was her fondness for nature and all things "cute" in the animal kingdom. Country music, especially the soothing voice of Randy Travis, brought her immense joy. Her generous spirit extended beyond her family. Mary was a fervent supporter of numerous organizations, including the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Help Heal Veterans, the American Red Cross, and the Houston SPCA. Her contributions to these causes reflected her deep empathy and desire to make the world a better place. Mary is predeceased by her parents, Rudy and Mary Elom; her sister, Pat Austin; her brothers, Mike McConathy and Danny Elom; and her beloved husband, Medwin Beale, Jr. She is survived by her loving children, Brenda Deyo and her husband Donald, and Medwin Beale III and his wife Brandy. She leaves behind four grandchildren: Katy Gober; Micah Beale and his wife Isabel and their son, Silas; Joshua Toney; and Naomi Roberts and her husband Julian and their daughter Magdalena. Mary also cherished her great-grandchildren, Silas Beale and Magdalena Roberts. Her surviving siblings include her brother Robert Elom, her sister Lynn Stanforth, and her sister-in-law Serena McConathy. A private funeral ceremony will be held in her honor. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the employees of Houston Hospice for their dedication and tireless service during Mary's final days. They truly were a Godsend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the organizations Mary held dear, such as the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Help Heal Veterans, the American Red Cross, or the Houston SPCA, in memory of her compassionate spirit. Mary Frances Beale's legacy of love, strength, and generosity will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
