Mary Ellen Weston

March 19, 1950 — September 22, 2026

Mary Ellen Weston, an extraordinary soul who graced this world with her vibrant spirit and artistic flair, peacefully passed away at her home on September 22, 2026, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on March 19, 1950, in Holden, Massachusetts, Mary was a beacon of creativity and warmth, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mary was the cherished daughter of Robert and Marguerite Weston, who preceded her in death, along with her beloved brother George Weston and cousin Anne Worthley. Despite these profound losses, Mary’s family continued to expand and thrive. She is survived by her devoted son, Benjamin Johnson, his wife, Elyssa, and their daughter, Addison, who was the light of Mary’s life. Her sister, Nancy Drew, and Nancy’s son, Jeff Drew, held a special place in Mary’s heart, as did her niece, Holly Weston, and nephews, Michael and Brian Mercier. Mary also leaves behind a great-niece, Katie Fletcher, her husband, Kyle, and their two young sons, John and Henry. Her circle of love extended beyond family to include a multitude of friends and loved ones. Mary's life was a rich tapestry of diverse experiences and careers, each reflecting her boundless creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. As an artist, she once adorned VW buses and motorcycles with her unique airbrush murals. Her talent and passion for hospitality shone brightly when she ran a charming bed and breakfast in Allstead, New Hampshire, where her blueberry muffins became the stuff of legends. Later, Mary owned a convenience store and movie rental business, delighting her community with her warmth and inquisitive nature. Her adventurous spirit eventually led her to Cherryfield, Maine, where she operated the Dusty Rose Antique Shop. It was during one of her cherished yard sale escapades that she discovered her forever home on Keene's Lake in Calais, a place that became a sanctuary for her soul. Mary continued her antiquing ventures in the Calais and Eastport areas, and her radiant presence was often spotted at the Horn Run, where she enjoyed the camaraderie of friends Marlys and Amy over drinks and salmon sticks. Mary's legacy is one of love, resilience, and artistic passion. She touched many lives with her kindness, creativity, and zest for life. In her honor, contributions can be made to Sarah’s House of Maine, a cause close to her heart, located in Holden, ME. Mary Ellen Weston will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all those who were blessed to know her. Her spirit will continue to inspire, and her memory will forever be cherished.
