Mary Ellen parra
November 8, 1953 — July 6, 1987
It is with profound sadness and deep respect that we announce the passing of Mary Ellen Parra, a beloved wife, sister, grandmother, and friend. Mary Ellen left this world on July 6, 1987, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and an enduring spirit. She was born on November 8, 1953, in the warm embrace of Orange County, where she spent her formative years surrounded by her cherished family.
Mary Ellen was the beloved daughter of Nieves Fernandez and Frank Fernandez, both of whom she now joins in eternal rest. Her memory lives on through her devoted siblings: Vickie Gonzalez, Paula Salas, Albert Menchaca, Lauranne Menchaca, and Mary E. Menchaca, who will forever cherish the bonds they shared.
She was the loving wife of Lorenzo Parra, with whom she shared 35 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a family and a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Mary Ellen was a proud grandmother to 42 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 42 great-grandchildren, each of whom was a testament to the love and care she bestowed upon her family.
Mary Ellen dedicated her professional life to the art of cosmetology, where her talents brought beauty and confidence to all who had the pleasure of sitting in her chair. Her work was more than a career—it was a calling, through which she connected with people on a deeply personal level.
A woman of faith, Mary Ellen was an active member of her Christian community, where her compassion and selflessness touched the lives of many. She was known for her welcoming nature, never judging others but embracing everyone she met with open arms and a kind heart.
In her leisure time, Mary Ellen found joy in painting, knitting, and collecting antiques and dolls. Her love for flowers was evident in the way she tended her garden, a reflection of her nurturing spirit.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary Ellen's life at a service to be held on July 30, 2026, at 12:00 PM. The service will take place at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary, located at 1500 Arlington Ave., Riverside, CA 92505.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Mary Ellen's lifelong commitment to helping others.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who can attend the service and to those who hold Mary Ellen's memory in their hearts from afar. Your support and love are deeply appreciated as we remember and celebrate a life well-lived.
