It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Ellen Archambeau, a cherished wife, devoted mother, loving sister, and treasured grandmother. Mary Ellen, aged 81, passed away on February 18, 2026, surrounded by her family, enveloped in love and warmth. Born on January 21, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, Mary Ellen was a beacon of joy and compassion to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mary Ellen was the beloved daughter of the late John and Barbara Foss. She was predeceased by her parents, whose memory she cherished throughout her life. Her legacy of love continues through her surviving family: her devoted husband, Myron, with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage, filled with laughter, adventures, and unwavering support. Together, Mary Ellen and Myron built a beautiful family. She leaves behind her two loving daughters, Lori (Todd) Jacobs and Kristi (Kevin) Emens, who were the pride and joy of her life. Mary Ellen was a fiercely loving grandmother, often regaling everyone she met with stories of her adored grandchildren: Elizabeth, Abigail, and Alexis Emens, and Seth and Noah Jacobs. Her playful spirit and sarcastic humor brought smiles and laughter to each family gathering, creating treasured memories that will be held close to the hearts of her loved ones. Mary Ellen shared a special bond with her siblings, her brother John Foss, and her sister Janice Underwood. She was cherished by her sisters-in-law, Maryann (the late Jim) Sligay and Marlene Archambeau, with whom she shared many cherished family moments. Her career as a medical assistant was a testament to her caring nature and her desire to help those in need. She offered kindness and comfort to countless patients, treating each with the dignity and respect they deserved. Mary Ellen's love for life extended to her hobbies and interests. She was an avid reader, always eager to lose herself in the pages of a good book. She had a passion for beaches and cruises, particularly those to the Caribbean. A Mediterranean cruise through Italy was among her treasured experiences, as was spending time at the family cottage in Caseville, delighting in the tranquility of the water. Mary Ellen found joy in the simplest of pleasures, whether it was connecting with her high school friends or sharing stories of her beloved grandchildren. She embraced life with a zest that was contagious, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. A celebration of Mary Ellen's life will be held on February 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Parish Church, located at 9086 Hutchins Rd, White Lake, MI 48386. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life beautifully lived, to share stories, laughter, and tears as they honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Miracle Children's Network, a cause close to Mary Ellen's heart, reflecting her lifelong dedication to helping children in need. Mary Ellen Archambeau's legacy of love, compassion, and humor will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
