In Loving Memory

Mary C Bertolini
March 29, 1948 — March 13, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary C. Bertolini, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend. Mary peacefully departed this world on March 13, 2026, after bravely facing a serious infection. Born on March 29, 1948, in the charming city of Joliet, Illinois, Mary was a beacon of love and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mary was the beloved daughter of Luiggi and Eerdma, who predeceased her and undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms. She also joins her two sons in eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she is survived by her devoted son Pete, her loving son Carl, and her cherished grandson Matthew, who all carry forward her spirit and memory.
She shared her life's journey with Salvador Figueroa, with whom she was married, and experienced love and companionship with Oscar Martinez and Carlos Guerrero in her later years. Her heart was vast and welcoming, ever eager to embrace life's offerings.
Mary dedicated much of her professional life to working for the state at the employment office, where she found fulfillment in helping others achieve their dreams and aspirations. Her warmth and kindness brought comfort and guidance to all those she encountered.
Beyond her professional commitments, Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid traveler, always ready for an adventure, and enjoyed the culinary arts, often filling her home with the aroma of homemade meals. Her evenings were spent relaxing with her favorite television shows, and she cherished the peaceful moments of rest.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on March 15, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Seed of Life Christian Center, located at 21514 Division St, Lockport, IL 60441. As we gather to honor her memory, we will be guided by the comforting words of the 23rd Psalm, a testament to her faith and the tranquility she found in her spiritual journey.
In this time of mourning, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their kindness, prayers, and support. Your presence and love have been a source of immense comfort during this difficult time. Thank you for standing with us as we remember and celebrate the life of Mary C. Bertolini.
