It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary C. Bertolini, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this world on March 12, 2026, at the age of 77. Mary was born on March 28, 1948, in Joliet, Illinois, to Luiggi and Eerdma, who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by two cherished sons, whose memories she carried tenderly in her heart. Mary's life was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and joy. Her journey began in the heart of Joliet, where she grew up surrounded by a loving family. She carried the values instilled by her parents throughout her life, always ready to offer a kind smile or a helping hand. Mary was a devoted mother to her surviving sons, Pete and Carl, and a doting grandmother to Matthew, who brought immense joy to her life. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who knew her. Mary's professional life was marked by dedication and service as she worked for the state employment office. Her colleagues remember her as a compassionate and diligent worker, always ready to lend an ear or provide guidance to those in need. Her commitment to her work was unwavering, and she was a beacon of strength and support to many. In her personal life, Mary found happiness and companionship with Salvador Figueroa, whom she married. Her life was further enriched by her relationships with Oscar Martinez and her marriage to Carlos Guerrero. Through these unions, Mary experienced love in its many beautiful forms. Mary had a zest for life that was evident in her various interests. She loved to travel, exploring the world with curiosity and wonder. Her kitchen was her sanctuary, where she delighted in preparing meals for her family and friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime. In quieter moments, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of watching television and finding solace in restful sleep. Her final days were filled with the same grace and dignity that marked her life. Despite facing a serious infection, Mary was surrounded by the warmth and love of those who cherished her. She passed away peacefully, embraced by the comfort of her loved ones. A service to celebrate Mary's life will be held on March 15, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Seed of Life Christian Center, located at 21514 Division St, Lockport, IL 60441. During the service, the 23rd Psalm will be read, offering solace and reflection as we honor Mary's journey. The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the kindness, prayers, and support received during this difficult time. Your presence and love have brought comfort and strength, and we are deeply grateful. Mary C. Bertolini's legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
