Born on March 27, 1948, in Joliet, Illinois, Mary departed this world on March 11, 2026, surrounded by love and tranquility, after valiantly battling a serious infection. Those who had the privilege to know her will remember her not for the illness, but for the peace and warmth that enveloped her final days. Mary was the beloved daughter of devoted parents who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by two of her cherished sons, a loss she bore with grace and resilience. Her surviving family includes her devoted sons Pete and Carl, and her adored grandson, Matthew, who was a light in her life, bringing her immense joy and pride. Mary's life was rich with love and companionship. She shared a beautiful marriage with Salvador Figueroa, and later, her heart found joy in the companionship of Oscar Martinez. Her life was a testament to love's enduring presence and the power of relationships that stand the test of time. A dedicated and hardworking individual, Mary spent her career working for the state, where she made a meaningful impact through her commitment and passion for service. Her work was not just a job, but a vocation through which she touched the lives of many, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and friends alike. Mary's faith was an integral part of her life. As a devoted member of the Seed of Life Christian Center, her spirit thrived in a community that nurtured her soul. Her faith provided her strength and comfort, especially in her final days, and will be celebrated during her memorial service. A service to honor Mary's life will be held on April 12, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Seed of Life Christian Center, located at 21514 Division St, Lockport, IL 60441. During this time, we will reflect on the beautiful journey of her life and find solace in the words of "The 23rd Psalm," a testament to her unwavering faith and eternal rest in the Lord’s embrace. To all who have reached out with kindness, prayers, and support during this difficult time, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your love and presence have provided immense comfort to our family as we navigate this loss. Thank you for sharing in the remembrance of Mary C.
