With hearts filled with both sorrow and gratitude, we announce the passing of Mary Brewer, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Mary peacefully departed this world on July 25, 2026, at the age of 78, after a courageous five-year battle with breast cancer. Born on August 12, 1947, in Mobile, Alabama, Mary lived a life rich in love, resilience, and purpose. Mary was the cherished daughter of Robert and Missy Coleman, who predeceased her, along with her devoted husband, Wayne Brewer. Together, Mary and Wayne built a life and family grounded in love, laughter, and unwavering support. Their marriage, a tapestry woven with shared dreams and mutual respect, was a source of inspiration for all who knew them. Wayne was Mary’s “quiet place,” and even in his absence, she carried his memory with tender affection. Mary’s legacy lives on through her four children: Kristina Brewer, Tanya Harts, Michael Brewer, and Jasmine Brewer. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Akena Neal, Landon Brewer, Mia Brewer, Karter Brewer, Ariyah Brewer, Zayden Harts, Nova Harts, Elijah Neal, Harmony Neal, and Camden Brewer. Her love extended further to her great-grandchildren, Josiah, Marlee, and Kingston, and a large, loving family of nieces and nephews, including Missy Neal, who held her dear. Professionally, Mary worked as a line supervisor at Lanier Textiles. Her work ethic and leadership were admired by her colleagues, whom she supported with kindness and camaraderie. Mary’s homemade lunches were a staple during long shifts, a testament to her nurturing spirit and generosity. Beyond her career, Mary’s passions were rooted in the simple pleasures of life. Her garden was a sanctuary where her roses, her “little miracles,” bloomed under her careful attention. Mary’s kitchen was the heart of her home, where her legendary Sunday dinners and holiday feasts brought family together, creating cherished memories. Mary’s life was a melody of old gospel tunes, a rhythm of crocheting gifts with love, and a harmony of quiet moments spent in nature’s embrace. She delighted in reading, classic TV shows, and the beauty of everyday moments. Yet, her greatest joy was found in the presence of her family, with whom she shared laughter, love, and life’s small blessings. Mary’s character was marked by strength, kindness, and a steadfast devotion to those she loved. Her nurturing spirit was a constant source of comfort, her wisdom a guiding light, and her humor a gentle reminder to cherish each moment. Mary taught us the enduring power of love, loyalty, and compassion — lessons that will continue to guide her family and friends. A service to honor Mary’s life will be held on July 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Miracle Revival Temple, located at 2 N Lafayette St B 114, Lafayette, AL 36862. Mary’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the friends, neighbors, and extended family who supported her with love and prayers.
