Mary Barboza
October 26, 1966 — June 7, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Mary Barboza, a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend. Mary left this world peacefully at her home on June 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on October 26, 1966, in the serene surroundings of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, to her beloved parents, George and Barbara Barboza.
Mary lived a life filled with warmth, joy, and an unyielding spirit. She graduated with the class of 1984 from Barnstable High School and furthered her education at Boston University, where she graduated in 1988. Her passion for helping others led her to a devoted career in nursing, where she touched countless lives during her 33 years of dedicated service at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
Mary was a woman of many talents and interests. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing and cooking, where she would often create dishes that brought her family and friends together. Her love for karaoke and dancing made her the life of every gathering, and she was known for her infectious smile and vibrant spirit. Mary had an innate ability to make everyone feel seen and special, a gift that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is survived by her two loving children, Johnathan Parker and Jessica Parker Johnson, who were her pride and joy. Her legacy continues through her three adored grandchildren, who will forever carry her love and stories in their hearts.
Mary is remembered as a beacon of light, whose laughter and spirit will forever illuminate the lives of those she touched. Her family takes solace in the countless cherished memories they shared with her and the love that will continue to guide them.
A service to celebrate Mary's remarkable life will be held on June 12, 2026, at 2:15 PM at the Lighthouse Cape Cod Church, located at 90 Hinckley Rd, Hyannis, MA 02601. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring a life well-lived and a woman deeply loved.
In this time of sorrow, Mary's family shares a special message: "Though you are no longer with us, your love, laughter, and spirit remain a part of our lives forever. We carry your memory in every step we take."
Mary Barboza will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, enveloped in love and light.
