It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Mary B. Comins, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Mary departed this world on May 23, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by the warmth of her family and the peace that comes from a life well-lived. Born on May 16, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, Mary was a beacon of resilience and grace, whose strength in adversity inspired all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Henry W. Ruenpohl and Ruth B. Erbe Ruenpohl, who instilled in her the values of kindness and perseverance. She was predeceased by her dear sisters, Susan Ferguson and Ann Grove, with whom she shared a bond of sisterhood that transcended time and distance. In her personal life, Mary was a devoted wife to Michael Comins, with whom she shared a journey of love and companionship. She was also a loving mother to John and Page Colwell, and Susan and David Fearnow, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Avery Fearnow, Sophia Colwell, Deegan Fearnow, and Jenna Fearnow, who brought her endless joy and laughter. Mary's professional journey was as diverse as it was impressive. After dedicating a few years to being a nurturing housewife, she embarked on a career in the roofing industry, where she served as an executive secretary to the CEO at GAF and later at GRI. Her talents and tenacity led her to Phenix Sales, where she excelled as a salesperson, covering many states. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Mike, and boldly decided to pursue a career as a truck driver. Her dedication and hard work were evident in her 15-year tenure with Shaw E&I Group, where she was hired during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, a testament to her courageous spirit and unwavering resolve. Mary's passions extended beyond her professional life. She was an avid animal lover, welcoming every creature, from horses and dogs to cows and pigs, into her heart and home. Her gardens were her sanctuary, filled with her beloved plants such as Plumeria, Desert Rose, and Lobster Plants. Her green thumb and nurturing spirit were evident in every blossom and leaf. Known for her kind and gentle personality, Mary had the soul of a saint. Rarely seen angry, she embraced life with a joyful heart and a playful spirit, always ready to capture the moment with a photograph. Her love for cooking and baking grew over time, and she found immense joy in creating delicious meals for her family and friends. Mary was a proud supporter of RVR Horse Rescue, and her family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to this organization she held dear: RVR Horse Rescue Donation. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses in the ICU of South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City. Your dedication and compassionate care provided comfort during her final days, and your commitment to the well-being of your patients does not go unnoticed. Mary's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and kindness. Though she faced numerous health battles, including breast cancer, neuropathy, and blood pressure challenges, she fought valiantly to embrace each day with courage and grace. Her indomitable spirit and loving heart will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever cherished and her legacy eternally remembered.
