Mary Ann Rogers, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 18, 1952, in Queens, New York, to John Aloysius Emlock and Ann Marie Corcoran, Mary Ann lived a life rich in love, learning, and laughter. Mary Ann grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where she graduated from Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School in 1970. Her passion for education led her to the City University of New York at Brooklyn College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1974. Later, she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Linfield University in Portland, Oregon, which paved the way for a successful career as an accountant at Catlin Gabel School. Her dedication and professionalism were admired by colleagues and students alike. On October 28, 1972, Mary Ann married the love of her life, Thomas Michael Rogers. Together, they built a life filled with joy and adventure, celebrating 53 wonderful years of marriage. Mary Ann was the proud mother of three sons: Thorin of Long Beach, CA, Todd (Marya S. Clifton) of Cleveland Heights, OH, and Trevor (Kara R. Waber) of Scappoose, OR. Her legacy lives on in her beloved grandchildren, Violet, Alan, Edward, and Maeve, who brought endless joy to her days. Mary Ann had a zest for life that was reflected in her many interests. She was an avid reader, finding solace and inspiration in the pages of countless books. Her flower garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, blooming with the care and pride she poured into it. A true adventurer at heart, she loved to travel the world, cherishing every opportunity to visit her sons and grandchildren, creating memories that her family will hold dear forever. Known for her kindness and compassion, Mary Ann never had an unkind word for anyone. Her gentle spirit and loving nature touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her sister, Patricia E. Lynch (Doyle) of Newport, RI, and sister-in-laws Joann Emlock and Valerie Emlock were among those who cherished her presence in their lives. Mary Ann is predeceased by her parents, brothers John and Terrence, and her infant son. Her family finds comfort in the thought that she is now reunited with them. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of one's choice, honoring Mary Ann's generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others. Mary Ann Rogers will be remembered for her unwavering love, her boundless generosity, and the beautiful memories she created with those fortunate enough to have known her. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her loved ones, guiding them with her gentle light.
