Mary Ann "Brantley" (Keough) Jahn

Mary Ann "Brantley" (Keough) Jahn, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 26, 2026, in a hospital in Flagstaff, AZ due to complications from an infection. Born on December 12, 1944, in Kearney, Nebraska. The daughter of John and Doris (Bowker) Keough, Mary Ann was raised as the oldest of 12, in a loving home in Kearney, alongside her siblings. Despite the challenges she faced, especially the loss of her husband Lendall Jahn and daughter Brenda Geiger, Mary Ann's resilient nature carried her through life's trials. A proud graduate of Kearney High School in 1963, Mary Ann cherished her connection to her hometown and its community. Her love for Husker Football was renowned among her family and friends, and she could often be found cheering passionately for her team. An avid fan of "Survivor," Mary Ann also enjoyed spending quiet moments immersed in her favorite crossword puzzles. Mary Ann's legacy lives on through her children, Barb (Geiger) Obermeier, Ken (Colene) Geiger, and Becky (Daniel) Daire. Her grandchildren, Georgia (Meredith) Graham, Bob Johnston, Dillon Obermeier, Carter Obermeier. Her grandchildren, Paige (Matthew) Gregerson, Matt (Jayden) Geiger, Christopher Geiger, Caitlyn Geiger, Cole Brantley, Devon Daire, and Trystyn Daire. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Meghan (Noah Tillman) Hart, Trevin Graham, Scarlett Graham, Blaze Johnston, Ella Johnston, Dorian Gregerson, Soren Gregerson, Tessa Geiger, Parker Geiger and Everly Geiger. Mary Ann is survived by her loving siblings, sisters, Cecilia Ingram, Regina (Gil) Molina, Liz (Mike) Rawlings, Theresa (Ron) Baack, and sister-in-law Julie Keough, as well as her brothers Joe (Linda), Pat (Gay), and Mike (Carrie), along with her brother-in-law Larry Taggert. Along with special family Joyce Keough and John Johnston. Her extended family, including many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends, will cherish her memory and the profound impact she had on their lives. Along with her husband and daughter, she is preceded in death by brothers Tom and Nick, sisters Louise Taggert and Cathy Lewis, son-in-law Greg Obermeier, sisters-in-law Judy and Dee and nephew Jeff Ingram A private funeral service will be held on September 18, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Shelton Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to honor Mary Ann's life at a Celebration of Life event on September 19 at 2 p.m. at the Kearney Alumni House. In true Husker spirit, attendees are encouraged to wear Husker attire, with food and a Husker Football game to follow. Her family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time of loss. Mary Ann's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
