Mary Allaire Barber

July 7, 1930 — May 12, 2026

It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Allaire Barber on May 12, 2026, at the age of 95, surrounded by her beloved family at her side in hospice care. Mary was born on July 7, 1930, in the close-knit community of Pampa, Texas, to Joseph Simon Allaire and Mary Margaret Dodge. Mary's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and resilience. She graduated from Hawkins High School in 1947, and the following year, she embarked on a new chapter of her life by marrying Raymond Barber on April 3, 1948. Together, they built a home brimming with mischief, laughter, and warmth, raising seven wonderful children. Her marriage to Raymond lasted until his passing in 1984, leaving behind a legacy of deep family bonds and shared memories. In the years that followed, Mary found love once more with Billy Ray Sanford. Their days were spent exploring the beauty of Texas, camping under starry skies, riding their bikes through scenic trails, and dancing with joy in their hearts. This union brought new adventures and happiness until Billy Ray's passing in 2021. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Margaret Allaire; her siblings, Gertrude Hoover, Edward Allaire, Myrtle Cates, Joan Siebert, and Bob Allaire; her cherished husbands Raymond Barber and Billy Ray Sanford; her beloved daughter Maria Dixon, and her son Joseph Barber. She is survived by her devoted children: sons David Barber and wife Ruth, Anthony Barber and wife Ann, John Barber and wife Jill, Kelly Barber and wife Brenda, and daughter Mary Margaret Ellison and husband James (Bubba) Ellison. Her legacy continues to thrive through her 19 grandchildren and an abundance of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, each a testament to the love and guidance she imparted throughout her life. Mary dedicated herself to her family as a housewife and mother, her home a sanctuary of faith and love. An active member of the Catholic Church, her faith was her guiding light, and she was particularly devoted to Jesus and our Mother Mary. Her bubbly personality was infectious, and her generosity knew no bounds, often reminding others that the "Lord is never outdone in generosity." A celebration of Mary's life will be held on May 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, located at 1612 S FM 2869, Holly Lake Ranch, Texas. Family, friends, and those whose lives Mary touched are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman who lived a life of grace and joy. Mary Allaire Barber's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. While she will be deeply missed, her spirit and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
