Mary Catherine Borgra LeDocq, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 7, 2026. Born on December 31, 1932, in Joliet, IL. Mary was the beloved daughter of immigrant parents Valentine and Caterina (nee Bocca) Borgra. She was greeted in heaven by her parents, her brother Joseph Borgra, and her devoted husband Wilford LeDocq, whom she married in the 1960s.
Mary's life was a testament to love, family, and community. After graduating from St. Francis Academy in Joliet, IL, Mary briefly worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company before dedicating her life to her family. She was the nurturing heart of her home, raising three wonderful children, Gregory (Pamela) Bump, Michael (Rebecca) LeDocq, and Cherie (Gregory) Fields. Her legacy of kindness and compassion lives on in her four grandchildren, Rachel Fields, Stephanie Fields, Benjamin LeDocq, and Ella LeDocq.
A lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Joliet, Mary was known for her unwavering faith and active involvement in her community. She was a dedicated member of the Woodland Elementary PTA and a supportive chaperone for field trips and band tours, ensuring her children's educational experiences were enriched with love and support.
Mary's creativity and passion were evident in her love for art, painting, and sports during her high school years, where she excelled in basketball and volleyball. She delighted in cooking and baking, particularly during holidays and Sunday dinners, where she shared her culinary talents with her family. Her artistic flair also shone through in the beautiful silk floral arrangements she crafted for her children's school dances and weddings.
A private memorial service to honor Mary's life will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to your local Hospice Agency, as a tribute to the compassionate care that Mary received in her final days.
Mary's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, family, and faith. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family and friends.
