Marvin Wayne Baker

Marvin Baker, a devoted family man, veteran, and respected businessman, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on March 27, 1933, in Enid, Oklahoma, Marvin was the beloved son of Earl Fisher and Wilmoth Bell (Harris) Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Eugene Earl Baker. Marvin was a man of great integrity and dedication, traits that were evident from a young age. He graduated from Enid High School in 1951 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955. After his military service, Marvin pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Oklahoma State University in 1960. Following his academic achievements, Marvin returned to his roots in Enid, where he joined the family agriculture business, focusing on wheat and cattle farming. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him to establish a successful temporary employment agency and a home improvement company, both of which reflected his commitment to hard work and community service. Marvin leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Ann (Baker) Bowyer and her husband Jim; and his three children: Wayne Baker and his wife Debera, Deanna Baker, and Allen Baker and his wife Sarah. Marvin was a cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren: Justin Ball, Jessica (Ball) Chandler and her husband David, Colin Baker, Grant Baker and his wife Alex, Paige (Baker) Simco and her husband Sam, Olivia Baker, and Luke Baker. His legacy continues through his seven great-grandchildren: Nevaeh Ball, Osiris Chandler, Serenity Chandler, Naomi Baker, Grady Baker, Janae Baker, and Baker Simco. A memorial to honor Marvin’s remarkable life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, located at 10600 N Council Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a man who was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Marvin's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of generosity and community support. Marvin's love, wisdom, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
