Marvin Otto Hansen

Marvin Otto Hansen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and educator, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Grant, Idaho, on September 3, 1938, Marvin was the cherished son of Otto and Ada Hansen. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication that will forever be remembered by all who knew him. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, and two grandchildren. He is survived by his devoted wife, Chee, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage since April 20, in the Idaho Falls Idaho LDS Temple. Together, they built a family filled with love and joy, raising their children Marche’ Hansen, Amy Huntsman, Joy (Kyle) Quinney, and Bruce (Tiffany) Hansen. Marvin's legacy extends to his 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. A man of great intellect and passion, Marvin graduated from Rigby High School and pursued higher education at Rick's College. He later achieved both a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree from Utah State University. His career as an Agriculture teacher spanned 32 years, beginning at the Navajo Indian Reservation in Chinle, Arizona, and later moving to Roosevelt, Utah. The majority of his career was spent at South Fremont High School, where he was a devoted Cougar and touched countless lives with his dedication to teaching. Marvin was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, living his faith through service and community involvement. He had a deep love for rodeos and dedicated much of his time to volunteering for the Fremont County fair board, the Pioneer Days committee, and the state high school rodeo organization. His love for teaching extended beyond the classroom; Marvin was a skilled welder and took great joy in imparting this skill to his students. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for horses and his eagerness to assist in cattle drives and potato harvests. Marvin's quick wit, teasing nature, and musical talents made him a cherished storyteller and a beacon of joy to those around him. In honor of Marvin's memory, donations may be made to the South Fremont Rodeo Club, an organization close to his heart. The Hansen family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Crescent Senior Living Memory Care for their exceptional love and care during Marvin's final days. Marvin Otto Hansen's life was a testament to the power of kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
