Born in Torrance, California, on November 5, 1962, Marvin was a proud member of the Quechan Tribe of the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation, and throughout his life, he remained deeply connected to his roots and heritage. Marvin was a man of contrasts, known for his bold and outspoken nature, yet also possessing a laid-back and easygoing spirit. His personality was as unique as it was endearing, and those who were fortunate enough to know him understood the depth of his character. Marvin's humor and strong will defined him, but it was his genuine kindness and generosity that left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. His passion for life extended to his love for football, and he was an avid supporter of the Raiders, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. Yet, it was Marvin's love for his family that shone the brightest. His children were the heart of his world, and he cherished each moment spent with them. Although words sometimes eluded him, his actions spoke volumes about the profound love he held for his children, a love that was steadfast and true. Marvin's greatest wish was for his children to remain close to him and to each other, fostering bonds that would endure throughout their lives. Marvin was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ellen Parks and Willie Reed, whose memories he cherished deeply. He is survived by his devoted siblings, Marie Gaines, Ryan Reed, and Adrian Parks, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. His legacy lives on through his cherished children: Joseph Tyrone Reed, Ebonie Marie Reed, Deondray Anthony Reed, Elijah Reed Collins, Stephanie Perkins, Jason Perkins, Tracey Perkins, and Marcedes Elsa Ellen Reed. His love and wisdom continue to inspire his grandchildren: Mycaela Reed, Mynia Reed, Earlene Reed, Kaimana Reed, Serenity Reed, Leilani Reed, and Allina Reed, and his great-grandchildren: Kei’lani Wilson, Chosen White, and Legend White. Marvin's life was a testament to living authentically and generously. He touched countless lives, leaving behind memories filled with laughter, stories, and warmth. Though he has left this world, the love he shared and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
