Born on September 21, 1980, in Greensboro, North Carolina, Marvin lived a life defined by love, service, and an unwavering commitment to family and country. Marvin was the cherished son of Janice Ferguson and Marvin Ferguson Sr., who instilled in him the values of courage and integrity. He is predeceased by his beloved sister Mai'Aja Mai-Ziah Ferguson, sister Jabria Ferguson Harris, and brother Jamarcus Lamar Ferguson, whose memories he carried with him throughout his life. Marvin's life was one of profound dedication. He proudly served as an E9 in the U.S. Marines, a role that took him across the nation and overseas, including his most recent station in Hawaii. His military service was not just a career but a calling, embodying the values of honor, bravery, and sacrifice that defined his life. Marvin was home for the holidays, a precious time he cherished with his family. In his personal life, Marvin was blessed with a loving and spirited family. He was the devoted husband of Summer Marie Alison Renee Ferguson, with whom he shared 16 wonderful years of marriage. Their life together was a tapestry of shared dreams, laughter, and unwavering support. Marvin's legacy lives on through his children: Ziyah Marie-May Ferguson, aged 18; Tay Trell Ferguson and Reily Sam Ferguson III, both aged 17; Tyalor Fry Ferguson, aged 15; and Toyia Summer Ferguson, aged 3. His children were his pride and joy, and he took immense pride in watching them grow and thrive. In addition to his immediate family, Marvin leaves behind a large extended family, including 10 treasured nieces and nephews and 29 aunts and uncles who will forever hold him in their hearts. Marvin earned a doctoral degree, a testament to his determination and intellect. His pursuit of knowledge was matched only by his dedication to service, a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew him. The family will honor Marvin's wishes with a private funeral ceremony. In remembrance of his life and service, the family requests that donations be made in his memory, honoring his enduring spirit and dedication.
