In Loving Memory

Martin Perry Rakich
May 20, 1953 — September 16, 2026
Marty Rakich, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on September 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer and dementia. Born on May 20, 1953, in Fontana, California, Marty was the cherished son of Peter and Patricia (Vogan) Rakich, who preceded him in death.
Marty's life was a testament to resilience, devotion, and kindness. He grew up in Ontario, California, and graduated from Chaffey High School in 1971. He went on to build a successful career in the HVAC business, where his expertise and problem-solving abilities were widely recognized. Marty was known for being able to fix anything and was always ready to offer a solution to whoever needed it. His work ethic and integrity left a lasting impact on those around him.
In 1991, Marty married the love of his life, Bev, in a beautiful ceremony in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Together they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love and laughter. Marty was a dedicated father to his daughter, Shannon Rose, a loving step father to Chris and Carey Cravens and a supportive brother to his siblings, Dave, Tim, Juli, and Janie.
Throughout his life, Marty was an active member of several churches in Central Oregon. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he found great joy in daily Bible study. Marty was also deeply committed to supporting Alcoholics Anonymous, celebrating 42 years of sobriety with a spirit of gratitude and humility.
Marty found relaxation and fulfillment in his hobbies, which included golfing, fishing, working on his classic car, and planting a garden. Yet, his greatest pleasure came from helping others. Known for his generosity, Marty never charged for his time, believing in the simple joy of lending a helping hand.
His kindness and warmth touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of compassion and love. Marty's family invites those who knew him to join in a celebration of his life on November 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Crossing Church in Redmond, Oregon.
