Martin George Dippre
February 16, 1936 — June 4, 2026
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Martin George Dippre, a devoted husband, beloved father, cherished grandfather, and a stalwart pillar of his community. Martin departed this life on June 4, 2026, at the age of 90, in the warm embrace of his family at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born on February 16, 1936, in Suffern, New York, Martin was the cherished son of George and Anna Dippre.
Martin shared an extraordinary 65 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Anne Dippre. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising six children: M. David (Jennifer) Dippre, Donna (Gary) CasaGrande, Michael (Tammy) Dippre, Mark (Helen) Dippre, Matthew (Monica) Dippre, and Madeline (Kevin) Snyder. Their family blossomed, graced with 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by Martin's unwavering love and guidance.
Martin was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Dippre, and his grandson, Justin CasaGrande. He is survived by his twin sister, Marlene Gosda, and his sister, Denise Calabrese. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren: Nathan (Amy) CasaGrande, Nicole (Ben) Kurth, Megan (Gabriel) Ruiz, Molly Dippre, Jackie Dippre, Nicholas Dippre, Elijah Dippre, Daniel Dippre, Mark Dippre, Sarah Dippre, Andrea Dippre, Manny Dippre, Stephen Dippre, Hannah Dippre, Blake Snyder, Anna Dippre, Riley Snyder, Callie Snyder, and his great-grandchildren: Lila Kurth, Will Kurth, Lucy Kurth, Brady CasaGrande, Maddox CasaGrande, Henlea Ruiz, and Landen Ruiz.
An Eagle Scout since 1950, Martin's early achievements set the tone for a life dedicated to service and leadership. He served his country with distinction as a radarman on the USS Hissem in the Navy from 1953 to 1957. His career path led him from a noble role as a fireman in New York to a prosperous career as a grocery manager at A&P in New York and later at Bashas' #13 Store in Scottsdale, where he retired in 1998.
Martin's dedication to his community was profound. A devout member of the Catholic Church, he rose from altar boy to Deacon by 1997, embodying his faith through continuous service to the poor and less fortunate. His commitment to "We Choose To Serve" saw him driving buses for the blind, cooking for the elderly, and delivering food to shelters. His lifelong contributions were recognized with numerous accolades, including the Bashas' People's Choice Award, the Francis Young Community Award in 1996, and the Scottsdale Community Award in 1998.
An avid camper and canoeing enthusiast, Martin found solace in nature, often seen enjoying the outdoors from a hammock or the back of his green station wagon. His family and friends were his world, and he was a beacon of support and kindness to all who knew him.
A service celebrating Martin's remarkable life will be held on June 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Daniel's Church, located at 1030 Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85257. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Matthew's Crossing in memory of Martin G. Dippre. Donations can be made at https://matthewscrossing.org/.
The Dippre family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love and support during this time, with special thanks to the dedicated hospice staff who provided care for Martin in his final days. While his physical presence will be deeply missed, Martin’s spirit will forever be a guiding light in the lives of those he touched.
