Martha Mituga

April 23, 1967 — April 21, 2026

It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of our beloved Martha Mituga, who departed this life on April 21, 2026, just shy of her 59th birthday. Born on April 23, 1967, in Chicago, IL, Martha was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and generosity, whose presence touched the lives of many throughout her journey. Martha was the cherished daughter of Leona Sanders and the late Robert Sanders. She is predeceased by her father, her sister Jennie Sanders, and her brother Albert Sanders. Martha's legacy continues through the love she gave and the family she cherished. She is survived by her mother Leona, her devoted children: Ebony Sanders, Jessica Sanders, LaQuan Johnson, LaQuanna Johnson, and Tyreeon Johnson. Her light also shines brightly in her seven grandchildren: Zaleah, Zytrell, Zachariah, Emoyia, Eshiya, Essence, and Kenndy, who were the apple of her eye. She also leaves behind her siblings: Patricia, Barbara, Rosie, Gloria Abril, and her brother Robert, along with sister-in-law Remona. Martha was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Terrance. Martha had a rich and varied life, marked by a commitment to her faith, her family, and her community. She was a proud graduate of Byrd Elementary and Lincoln Park High School, where she was an active member of the ROTC program throughout all four years. Her dedication to service was further exemplified by her long-standing career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a role she embraced with passion and dedication for over two decades, providing care and comfort to those in need until her health no longer permitted. Her professional journey also included stints at G&K and the post office, but it was her nurturing role as a CNA that truly defined her career. Martha's compassionate spirit was not confined to her work. As a devout member of both Greater Little Rock Baptist Church and Spiritual Life Church, she was fondly known as "the Holy Roller," always willing to help and assist wherever needed, making everyone feel at home with her welcoming smile. Martha had a zest for life that was infectious. Her friends fondly remember her as an active member of the casino community, where she was affectionately known as a "nationwide, fortified gambler"—a testament to her vibrant personality and love for life. A celebration of Martha's life will be held on May 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Spiritual Life Church, located at 6865 Shingle Creek Parkway, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, 55430. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Martha are invited to gather in her memory. In this time of sorrow, the family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences. Martha's legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her, and she will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
