It is with both sadness and gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Martha Elizabeth (Moore) Jordan, who left this world on May 26, 2026, at the age of 92. Martha passed away peacefully at the LGAR home, surrounded by the love and compassion of those who cared for her in her final days. Her departure marks the end of a remarkable journey that began on September 3, 1933, in the close-knit community of Meadowlands, Pennsylvania.
Born to Bernard and Esther Moore, Martha was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Joseph Jordan, with whom she shared 36 cherished years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising their family in Braddock Hills, PA. Martha is also predeceased by her daughter, Linda Gregory, and her son, Glen Jordan.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Martha leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family members: Diane & Philip McConnell, Michael & Diane Jordan, and Sandi & Darwin DeVitis. Her family was her greatest joy, and her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her kindness.
Martha's career was one marked by dedication and service. After raising her children, she contributed her talents as the treasurer for the Swissvale Methodist Church, where she was an active member for over 40 years. Her commitment to her faith and community was unwavering. Following the closure of the church, she found joy and camaraderie working at TJ Maxx, where she remained until her retirement.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the LGAR home for the exceptional care and service they provided to Martha. Their kindness and support were a comfort during her final days.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Martha’s life on May 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM -4:00 PM and 6:00PM - 8:00 Pm at Thomas L. Nied Funeral Home Inc., located at 7441 Washington St., Swissvale, PA. It will be a time to remember the warmth, generosity, and grace that Martha shared with all who had the privilege to know her. Funeral will be 11:00 PM at Braddock Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Martha’s memory, as a testament to her giving spirit and the many lives she touched.
Martha Elizabeth (Moore) Jordan will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing her.
