Martha "Mimi" Dodson, born on May 15, 1967, in San Bernardino, California, passed away on July 24, 2026, at the Alive Hospice Center in Nashville, Tennessee, after a courageous battle with stage 4 colon cancer. Her life was marked by devotion, laughter, and an enduring spirit that touched all who knew her. Mimi was the cherished daughter of Priscilla Garcia and Maximo Julia. She shared a close bond with her siblings, Rose Estrada and David Estrada, who were her lifelong companions and co-conspirators in countless adventures. She graduated from San Andreas High School, where she first discovered her love for numbers, a passion that would guide her career. After high school, Mimi proudly served in the United States Air Force. Though her time in the service was brief, it was significant, as it was during this period that she married Mark Anthony Dodson and welcomed her beloved daughter, Alora La'che Dodson, into the world. Mimi was honorably discharged from the Air Force to focus on her growing family, a choice that reflected her deep commitment to those she loved. Professionally, Mimi found joy and fulfillment in her work as an accountant. Her expertise in taxes and bookkeeping was well-regarded during her tenure with both H&R Block and The San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra. She thrived in a world of numbers, finding clarity and order in what many found intimidating. Beyond her professional life, Mimi was a vibrant and engaging presence. She delighted in the simple pleasures of life, from singing karaoke with her siblings—favorites included "Love Shack" by The B-52's and "The Pussycat Song" by Connie Vannett—to dominating at dominoes, where she was known as an unofficial champion. An early adopter of what is now known as "glamping," Mimi loved camping trips with all the comforts of home. Her greatest joy, however, came from surrounding herself with good people and creating lasting memories. Mimi's legacy continues through her daughter, Alora, and her two grandchildren, Myla Ochoa and Byron Butler, who were the light of her life. She leaves behind a family who will dearly miss her warmth, humor, and unwavering love. A service to celebrate Mimi's life will be held on September 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the American Legion Post 155, located at 1401 Veterans Way, Colton, CA 92324. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Mimi's generous spirit and her desire to make the world a better place. Mimi Dodson will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
