Marshall was born on November 28, 1955, in the warm embrace of Sylvester, Georgia, to the late Marshall Tolbert Sr. and Ollie Mae Scott. His journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and a spirit that touched all who knew him. Marshall was a man of high energy, strength, hard working and unwavering kindness. His childhood in the south, and later in the north,surrounded by his loving siblings, Curtis, Theresa, Joanne, Rachel, Melvin, Bernard, Tony, and Nadine, was filled with laughter, trials, and an ever growing bond of a close-knit family. The family shared a legacy of love and unity that remained strong throughout the years. A proud veteran, Marshall served his country with honor and distinction in the U.S. Army. His bravery and dedication to his fellow soldiers were a testament to his unwavering commitment to service and honor. He carried these qualities with him throughout his life, embodying the true spirit of a hero. Marshall found great joy in his work as an auto mechanic and detail restoration specialist, working alongside his brother for 15 years. His passion for cars was evident in every project he undertook, and his attention to detail and craftsmanship were unmatched. Beyond his professional accomplishments, it was the love of dogs he cherished most. In October 2023, Marshall experienced one of the greatest joys of his life when he married his beloved Kimberly. Their love story was one of mutual respect, laughter, and unwavering support. Kimberly was not only his partner but his confidante and best friend. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the simple pleasures of everyday moments. Marshall's heart was as expansive as his interests. He found peace in the quiet moments of fishing, joy in tending to his garden, and happiness in the company of his loyal dogs. His love for animals was a testament to his gentle nature and caring heart. To his nieces, nephews, and extended family, he was a source of wisdom, and endless love. As we remember Marshall, we celebrate a man whose legacy is defined by the kindness he shared, the generosity he extended, and the love he gave freely. He leaves behind a family who will carry forward his memory with pride and a circle of friends who will forever be grateful for the moments they shared. Marshall was predeceased by his beloved parents, Marshall Tolbert Sr. and Ollie Mae Scott, Lance his son,and his dear siblings, Stacey Spencer and Frederick Jones. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kimberly , and his siblings: Curtis, Theresa, Joanne, Rachel, Melvin, Bernard, Tony, and Nadine. He also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, cousins,and friends who will continue to honor his memory. A celebration of Marshall's life will be held in Fayetteville, Georgia, where family and friends will gather to remember the remarkable man who graced their lives with his presence. In the words of those who knew him best, Marshall Tolbert Jr. was a man of honor, a beacon of love, and a cherished soul whose memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
