May 6, 2021 — October 15, 2026

Marquez Jones, a beloved son, grandson, and friend to many, entered eternal rest on October 15, 2026. Born on May 6, 2021, in Florence, Alabama, Marquez was a cherished light in the lives of those who knew him. He was the precious son of Aliyah Jones and Mario Williams and held a special place in the hearts of all his family members. Marquez was a joyful child whose presence could brighten any room. Known for his big, warm smile, he was a beacon of kindness and generosity. His nurturing spirit and willingness to share happiness with others left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to meet him. A student at Sam C. Harlan Elementary School, Marquez was an excellent A/B honor student whose curiosity and enthusiasm for learning were evident to all his teachers and classmates. Beyond academics, Marquez was a spirited participant in various activities, actively engaging in the children's youth choir at Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a dedicated member of the Boys & Girls Club Cherry Hill, where he formed many friendships and enjoyed countless hours of laughter and play. Marquez had a passion for participating in youth church activities and found immense joy in being surrounded by family and friends. His love for playing outside, especially with his basketball goal, was a testament to his energetic and vivacious nature. Marquez's loving demeanor and playful spirit were always a source of joy and comfort to those around him. His grandmother, Rosie Collier Jones, predeceased him, and their reunion in the afterlife brings solace to his family during this difficult time. In honor of Marquez's extraordinary life and the joy he brought to his community, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to organizations close to Marquez's heart, such as the Boys & Girls Club Cherry Hill. A private funeral ceremony will be held on November 6, 2026 at Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church to celebrate Marquez's life and the profound impact he had in his brief but meaningful time with us. Though his time on earth was short, Marquez's spirit and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
