With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Marques Aubrey Levar Davis Jr., who entered into eternal rest on July 19, 2026. Marques was born on January 1, 2002, in Asheville, North Carolina, and from the moment he arrived, he brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. Marques was the cherished son of Marques Davis Sr. and Keanti Wise, and he was a beacon of love and strength for his siblings: Deaunte Davis, Markell Arrington, Martavis Davis, Marqua Davis, and Ke'Nariah Davis. He was a grandson who made his grandparents, Sonia Clay, Adrian Wise, and Vivian Boseman (Gregory), immensely proud. Marques was also a treasured nephew to his special aunt Alice Cunningham, and he leaves behind a vast network of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who will forever remember his kindness and humor. A dedicated and hard worker, Marques graduated from Asheville High School and went on to serve as a security officer at Mission Hospital through Allied Security. His compassionate nature led him to assist part-time as a funeral assistant with Hart Funeral Service, where his gentle demeanor brought comfort to many families. Marques was a devout member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where his faith and community spirit shone brightly. His commitment to the youth was evident through his mentorship in the My Daddy Taught Me That program, a role he took great pride in as he inspired and guided countless young minds. Known for his infectious humor and a heart willing to help anyone in need, Marques held an unyielding love for his family. His laughter and light-hearted spirit were a balm to all who were fortunate to be in his presence. Marques is predeceased by his loving aunt, Tamika Davis, who he now joins in eternal peace. A celebration of Marques's life will be held on August 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church, located at 100 Carroll Ave., Asheville, NC 28801. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be available via livestream through the Hart Funeral Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to organizations or causes that were dear to Marques's heart. Marques Aubrey Levar Davis Jr.'s legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will forever remain in our hearts. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the indelible mark he left on us all.
