Marline McCoy Wymore, was cherished and love, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, at Lake Regional in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of 91. Born on September 22, 1934, in Ottumwa, Iowa, Marline's life was a tapestry of family devotion, nurturing care, and boundless creativity.
Marline was the beloved daughter of Harold and Florence Benson McCoy, and she was blessed with a large and loving family. She is predeceased by her devoted husband, Gilbert Carroll Wymore, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage that began on August 25, 1951, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Together, they built a life full of love and laughter. Marline was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Darrell Wymore, her grandson William Dawson, her sister Donna McCoy, and her brothers Orland and Udell McCoy.
Her legacy lives on through her surviving children: Robecca Dawson and her husband William, Carol Miller and her husband Lawrence, Sherry Cheney and her husband Jeffery, Regina Poland and her husband William, Loretta Compton and her husband Rodney, and Clayton Wymore. Marline's nurturing spirit also touched the lives of her 19 grandchildren: Katherine, Curee, Julie, Toni, Sheena, Heather, Rodney, Sam, Dana, Leslie, Courtney, Jessica, Chad, Brian, Sondra, Miranda, Matthew, Kreg, Tabitha, Mary, Jeremy, Samantha, and Daisy. Her love extended even further to 68 great-grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren each of whom will carry forward her memory and warmth. Nieces, nephews and friends.
Marline's education in Ottumwa, Iowa, laid the foundation for a life filled with dedication and care. She found her calling in nurturing young lives, working for many years at Larson Daycare and eventually running her own in-home daycare. Her gentle guidance and loving heart made her a second mother to countless children and grandchildren, each of whom benefited from her wisdom and kindness.
A woman of many talents, Marline was an avid quilter whose beautiful creations warmed the hearts and homes of her family. She possessed a green thumb and found great joy in her garden, cultivating beauty and life wherever she went. Marline also loved the serenity of the great outdoors, often seeking peace and adventure while camping with her loved ones.
A celebration of Marline's life will take place on July 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the residence of Carol and John Miller in Oquawka, Illinois. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and to honor the legacy of a woman who touched so many lives.
Marline's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and family. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her grace.
