January 12, 1950 — October 7, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marlene Pamela Silva, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Marlene departed this world peacefully on October 7, 2026, after a courageous battle with Aplastic Anemia, surrounded by the love of her family and the dedicated care of her medical team. Marlene was born on January 12, 1950, in the vibrant landscape of San Juan, Trinidad and Tobago to her parents Mary and Emanuel Armoogan. She is survived by her brothers Parkie and Ralph, and her sisters April, Cherry, Debbie, Jennifer, Sally, and Yvonne. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Anthony and Joseph, and her sisters Claire and Joyce. Though life led each of them in different directions, the love within her large family remained constant. Marlene married her husband, Anthony Martin Silva, with whom she shared a long and formative chapter of her life. Though their relationship changed over the years and their paths moved in different directions, their bond remained an important part of Marlene’s story. Together, they built a family and shared 54 years of marriage, a testament to the connection that shaped her early life and the children they brought into the world. A bright and determined young woman, Marlene pursued her education at Queens College, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her passion for caring for others led her to a fulfilling 38 year career as a registered nurse, where she touched countless lives with her compassionate care and unwavering dedication. Marlene was a devoted mother to her children, Raphael, David, and Christina, and took great pride in their accomplishments and joys. Her heart expanded even further with the arrival of her five grandchildren, Isaiah, Alyiah, Nadiah, Sophiah, and Davey, and one great-grandchild, Kyiah. Marlene's love for her family was boundless, and she delighted in keeping up with their lives, always offering support and wisdom. Beyond her professional and family life, Marlene was a woman of many passions. She found joy in cooking, movies, music, and dancing, and her vibrant spirit was a testament to her love for life. She was a strong, independent woman, known for her straightforward nature and strong-mindedness. Marlene never hesitated to speak her mind, a quality that endeared her to those who knew her well. Marlene’s faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Her commitment to her community and faith was unwavering, although her attendance at mass was limited in later years due to her health. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors and caregivers who provided exemplary care to Marlene during her two‑year battle with declining health. Special thanks are also given to her daughter Christina, son‑in‑law Jay, and Jay’s mother Millie Rodriguez, whose tireless devotion and love provided comfort and support to Marlene at home. A service to honor and celebrate Marlene's life will be held on October 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Service, located at 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, FL 32907. Friends and family are invited to gather and share in the memory of a life well-lived and a woman deeply cherished. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Marlene Silva’s memory to support research and treatment of Aplastic Anemia, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others. Marlene Silva’s legacy of love, strength, and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
