It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Marlene Gomez, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on February 14, 2026, at the age of 63. Marlene passed away peacefully in Sacramento after a courageous battle with illness, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. Born on February 11, 1963, in the vibrant community of New Mexico, Marlene was the beloved daughter of a tight-knit family. She was survived by her dear brother, Victor Chavez, and her loving sister, Julia Chavez, and Linda Chavez whom she often remembered with fondness and warmth. Marlene's life was a testament to her giving nature and her dedication to her family. She is survived by her three devoted sons, David Gomez, Michael Gomez, and Daniel Gomez, who were her pride and joy. Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren: Daniel Gomez, Izaiah Gomez, and Aliya Gomez, Emelia Gomez who were the lights of her life. She adored them and cherished every moment spent in their presence. A graduate of Manzano High School, Marlene was a woman of many talents. Throughout her life, she worked various jobs, however, it was in her later years that she found her true calling as a chef. Her culinary creations were a reflection of her heart—rich, warm, and comforting. The kitchen was her sanctuary, where she expressed her love for her family and friends through her delicious meals. Marlene had a passion for arts and crafts, finding joy and solace in creating beauty with her hands. Her artistic spirit was evident in every piece she crafted, each one a testament to her creativity and attention to detail. She was known for her sweet, caring, and giving nature, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her loving spirit touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. A memorial service to honor Marlene's remarkable life will be held on March 16, 2026, at 11:00 am. The service will be an opportunity for family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate the beautiful life she lived. In our hearts, Marlene will forever be remembered as a beacon of love and kindness. Her family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of support and love during this difficult time. As they hold Marlene in their hearts, they share this special message: "Forever in our hearts."
