Obituary of Marlene Cieslinski
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marlene Cieslinski, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, on June 8, 2026. Born on December 2, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Marlene lived a life rich in love, laughter, and service to others. She was 88 years old.
Marlene was the cherished daughter of the late Stanley and Valeria Okupniak, who instilled in her a sense of kindness and generosity that she carried throughout her life. She was predeceased by her beloved parents but leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family members: her devoted children, John (Diane) Cieslinski, Michael (Anne) Cieslinski, and Donna (Chris) Rohrer, and her five adored grandchildren, Chris Jr., Joshua, Tyler(mckenzie), Amanda, and Daniel. She also leaves behind many close friends and family members, all of whom she held dear, as well as the special nurses who tenderly cared for her in her final days.
Marlene was a proud graduate of St. Mary's Academy and MATC, and she embarked on a career that was marked by dedication and a tireless work ethic While raising her children, she owned and operated a successful tavern before dedicating 30 years as a purchasing agent in finances at the Veterans Administration Hospital. Her commitment to service didn't end there; even after retiring, she continued to work at Pick 'n Save for 15 years and finally retired from Menards at the remarkable age of 86.
A woman of many talents and interests, Marlene was a gifted knitter, crafting beautiful blankets and washcloths that were cherished by all who received them. She was an avid reader, who found joy in solving puzzles and crosswords, and a passionate fan of the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR races. Her humor was infectious, and she was known for her wisecracks, often teasing her son-in-law with great affection.
Marlene was a hard worker, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her giving spirit and ability to make friends wherever she went left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. She was a beacon of love, laughter, and warmth, whose presence will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lake Country Health Rehab Facility for the compassionate care provided to Marlene, especially Kathy and Sam, whose kindness and attentiveness brought comfort in her final days.
Marlene's life will be celebrated in a service befitting her joyful spirit, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the extraordinary legacy she leaves behind.
