In loving memory of Marla Beth Timms, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 29, 2026, at the Mason City Area Nursing Home. Marla was born on November 17, 1947, in Pekin, Illinois, to the late Harry Arthur Eeten and Mary Elizabeth Eeten (Klokkenga). Her gentle spirit and infectious warmth touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marla cherished her role as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married the love of her life, Jesse Timms, on December 17, 1971, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. Marla's legacy continues through her beloved children, Chad Timms and Tara Timms; her cherished grandchildren, Alex Timms, Erin VanCleve, Destiny VanCleve, Brian Bristow, Tyler Sadowski, and Logan Sadowski; and her four great-grandsons, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also loved her brother, Dale Eeten of Delavan Il, and his wife.
A dedicated and hardworking individual, Marla spent many years at Lehn & Fink, where her commitment and work ethic were admired by all who worked alongside her. Outside of her career, Marla was known for her vibrant personality and zest for life. An ardent Cardinals fan, she never missed a game and celebrated countless victories with her family and friends. Marla's creative talents shone through her love for crochet, and she created beautiful pieces that will be treasured for generations. Her evenings were often spent enjoying bingo, and her passion for bowling brought her great joy and camaraderie.
Above all, Marla's greatest delight was her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her home was always filled with laughter, love, and the comforting aroma of her favorite dishes. Marla's nurturing spirit and unconditional love will be dearly missed, but the memories she created with her family will forever be cherished.
Marla was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Mary Eeten, her son Thad Timms, and her son Brad Swinford. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
