Markeist Armstead, a devoted family man known for his infectious smile and boundless energy, passed away on June 14, 2026, at the age of 42. Born on January 14, 1984, in Dallas, Texas, Markeist's life, though tragically cut short, was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.
Markeist was the beloved son of Samantha Armstead and Marcus Willam. He was predeceased by his siblings Tieasha Brown, Courtney Lewis, Shalonda Sawyer, and 22 other family members who are not listed. Markeist is survived by his 23 siblings, his cherished aunts and uncles, his six children, and three grandchildren, each of whom was a source of immense pride and joy for him.
Education was important to Markeist, and he excelled academically, graduating with honors from James Madison High School in South Dallas in 2003. His dedication and strong work ethic carried him into a successful career as a construction worker at Lee Construction Site, where he spent a decade contributing to building the community he loved.
Beyond his professional life, Markeist was a steadfast member of the Peoples Missionary Baptist Church. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was actively involved in church activities, finding solace and strength in his spiritual community.
Markeist's true passion, however, lay in the simple joys of life. He loved spending time with his family, traveling to new places, and creating lasting memories with those he held dear. His bright smile and clever jokes could light up a room, leaving those around him with a sense of warmth and happiness.
A private funeral ceremony will be held in honor of Markeist's life. The family expresses their deep gratitude to the Peoples Missionary Baptist Church and the Golden Gate Funeral Home for their unwavering support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, as a way of honoring Markeist's generous spirit and his commitment to helping others.
