It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark W Alexander, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Mark peacefully departed from this world on June 2, 2026, just a few days after celebrating his 58th birthday. His life, filled with love and laughter, began on May 28, 1968, in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was born to Wayne Alexander and Sherryl Lane. Mark's journey was one of dedication and warmth, marked by his unwavering love for his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Darline, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. He leaves behind his cherished children, Clint and Alexis Bordelon, who were his pride and joy. Mark's legacy continues through his siblings, Luke Ballard and Danielle Ballard, who shared in his life's milestones and cherished memories. An alumnus of Tioga High School, Mark graduated in 1986 and went on to pursue his passion for history at Louisiana Tech University, earning his bachelor's degree. His thirst for knowledge and understanding of the world was a testament to his inquisitive nature and intellectual curiosity. In service to his country, Mark proudly served in the United States Navy, demonstrating the courage and dedication that defined his character. His time in the Navy instilled a sense of discipline and camaraderie that resonated throughout his life. Professionally, Mark found his calling as an insurance claims adjuster, a role in which he excelled. His meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. But beyond his career, it was Mark's personal qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. Mark was a man of many interests, with a particular passion for cars. As a dedicated car enthusiast, he relished the time spent with friends in his local car club, where he could share his knowledge and love for automobiles. His circle of friends extended beyond the club, as he maintained many lifelong friendships dating back to his elementary school days. Known for his warm smile and quiet presence, Mark had an innate ability to strike up conversations with anyone, making everyone feel valued and heard. In his younger years, he found joy in bartending, a testament to his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. A celebration of Mark's life will be held on July 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Lakeview Event Venue, located at 11900 US Hwy 78, Riverside, AL. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and remember a life well-lived, a man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched. Mark W Alexander will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and friendship will live on forever in our hearts.
