Mark was the cherished son of Wayne Alexander and Sherryl Lane. He spent his formative years in Louisiana , where he cultivated lifelong friendships, many dating back to his days at Country Day School and Tioga High School, from which he graduated in 1986. His pursuit of knowledge led him to Louisiana Tech University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history, a testament to his enduring curiosity and love for learning.
Answering the call to serve his country, Mark proudly joined the United States Navy, where his dedication and service were a source of pride for his family and friends. After his honorable service, he transitioned into a career as an insurance claims adjuster, where he was admired for his meticulous attention to detail and his unwavering integrity.
Mark's life was richly woven with the threads of his passions and interests. A true car enthusiast, he delighted in the camaraderie of his local car club, where he shared his passion for automobiles with fellow enthusiasts. Whether behind the wheel or under the hood, Mark found joy in the mechanical marvels and the friendships forged along the way.
Those who knew Mark will remember his warm smile and quiet presence, qualities that endeared him to everyone he met. He had an uncanny ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, turning strangers into friends with his genuine interest and kindness. Mark’s family was the centerpiece of his life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Darline Alexander, who was his steadfast partner and the love of his life. His children, Clinton Bordelon and Alexis Bordelon, brought him immense pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Mark's heart was further lightened by his granddaughter, Adrian, whose youthful spirit brought him endless happiness. He is also survived by his father, Wayne (Margaret) Alexander, his mother, Sherryl Lane, and his siblings, Luke Ballard and Danielle Ballard.
Mark's faithful dog, Baxter, was a constant companion, and their bond was a source of comfort and joy, illustrating the quiet moments of happiness that filled Mark's life.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held on July 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Lakeside Event Venue, located at 11900 US-78, Riverside, AL 35135.
